IDI Core/CAP Certified Laboratory
Established in 1989 and internationally accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) since 2003, the Makerere University- Johns Hopkins University (IDI) Core Laboratory remains a regional and continental leader in the provision of excellent medical laboratory services. Having won numerous international best practice awards, the laboratory seeks to maintain the highest internationally acceptable standards within a local setting, and in a sustainable manner.
The Core Laboratory serves at least 40 research studies at any one time, along with routine clinical diagnostic testing, drawing up an annual testing volume capacity of over 300,000 tests. This capacity is made possible by a set of highly skilled staff, state of the art instrumentation, an efficient in-house maintenance program.
Our distinctive expertise is in having such robust quality assurance processes and systems as would assure round the clock reliability of testing services and customer care. In appreciating that there is a face behind every sample, we receive; our primary value remains to make the people we serve smile.
