Visas and Medical Licenses

A visa can be obtained directly through the Ugandan High Commission or Embassy located nearest to you, or through various visa services (such as You can also acquire a tourist visa upon arrival at the Entebbe Airport. However, if you also need to apply for a medical license, it is preferable to have a visa in advance of your trip.

You are required to have a medical license if you wish to take part in any clinical care in Uganda. Once you have your visa, the medical licensure process can commence. Processing usually takes about four weeks, and once a license is granted it is valid for up to 24 months.



NB: Applicants should be persons intending to work as employees whether for gain or not in Uganda.
