IDI donates emergency equipment’s to Mulago burns unit worth $4,000

Dr Sentongo said the hospital receives at least three severe and 10 medium burns patients every day, many of them requiring sophisticated treatment.

As part of IDI social responsibility, the Director Infectious Diseases Institute of Makerere University Dr Alex Coutinho, handed over equipment’s donated by the institute to the burns unit worth $4,000 including suction machines, oxymeters, glucometers, intensive care apparel, blankets, nutritional supplements etc. to help the hospital to manage tragedies such as last weeks’ Northern Bypass fuel fire accident that has claimed at least 40 lives so far.
