The mission of the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is to strengthen health systems in Africa, with strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University-Johns Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.



1. Executive Director

IDI is seeking a passionate and self-driven individual with a track record of leading and managing institutions of high repute, excellence and results. The individual with need to be a visionary and able to effectively manage a complex organization and initiate change in response to a dynamic environment. Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director, is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization in line with the IDI strategic direction.

2. Locum MNH Quality Assurance (QA)

3. Nurse Counselor

The Nurse-Counselor’s primary role is to give information, consent and register patients for the mHealth implementation project (Cal for Life Lite). He/she will be required to offer counselling support and advice to registered patients, will be expected to manage daily recruitment, and wellbeing of project patients. He/she will also be responsible for reporting activities, monitoring the mHealth system at the implementation site.  In order for the study to implement its program, IDI wishes to recruit a Nurse Counselor.
