Walter Joseph Arinaitwe
Deputy Head of Training
Joseph Walter Arinaitwe is the Deputy Head of Training at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI). With over seven years of experience in eHealth and eLearning, he specializes in health worker capacity building and systems strengthening. As the head of the Learning Innovations Centre, he oversees strategic partnerships for the optimal growth and utilization of the Advanced Treatment Information Centre (ATIC) and IDI’s virtual learning environment (VLE). ATIC provides real-time support to frontline health workers, while the VLE offers online training to local and international health workers through open access educational resources. Arinaitwe is responsible for developing innovative and cost-effective capacity building approaches that leverage technology, resources, and IDI’s network of infectious diseases experts for sustainable health worker training. His work focuses on HIV clinical pharmacy, supply chain management, and knowledge retention assessment and support.
