General Summary

 

The Nurture Space Assistant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the nurture center within IDI, ensuring a comfortable, clean and supportive environment for nursing mothers.

The job holder will offer on-site support, maintain the space’s cleanliness, provide resources and ensure all nursing mothers’ needs are met, in alignment with IDI’s values, wellness initiatives and policies.

 

The IDI Nurture Space Assistant is a member of the Employee Relations and Welfare Section within the HR Department. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Nurture space is clean, hygienic, and well organized at all times
  • Ensure the space is complaint with workplace health and safety.
  • Ensure proper registration and documentation of all children, mother and minders who access the premises
  • Ensure a caring, stimulating environment for the children.
  • Ensure that rooms are prepared and set out in readiness for the day.
  • Ensuring the proper maintenance of Nurture Space equipment and resources.
  • Track usage of the space and maintain a schedule to ensure equitable access for all nursing mothers.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all personal information and records related to the children, their parents, and minders
  • Ensure that all policies governing the Nurture Space are adhered to.
  • Ensure that toys and play areas are sterilized to provide children with a safe, engaging, and clean environment.
  • Keep the parents and supervisors up-to-date on the condition of the children.
  • Resolve operational issues of a minor nature.
  • Inform the supervisor of any matter requiring their attention.
  • Support in budgeting for the Nurture Space operations and management
  • Coordinate end month meetings with the parents
  • Compile and submit monthly reports
  • Advise parents and the supervisor about daily children’s wellbeing and those that are at risk of infecting others in case of health issues.
  • Notify the supervisor of any issues requiring their attention.
  • Policies and procedures – implementation and interpretation of policies and procedures in the unit and proposing improvements when necessary.
  • Rejects admission of children who are visibly unwell or above the prescribed age.
  • Participating in any other Institute activities as guided to do so.

Academic Qualifications

  • • Bachelors in Early childhood handling and care or related field
  • • Professional training certificate in early childhood handling is an added advantage

Person Specification

  • Bachelors in Early childhood handling and care or related field
  • Professional training certificate in early childhood handling is an added advantage
  • At least 1-year experience looking after young children in a pre-school day care, baby care orphanage, babies’ home or related childcare environment and baby care equipment management;
  • First aid and CPR certification is an advantage
  • Experience in customer service, healthcare or wellness- related roles
  • Computer Proficiency with strong skills using MS Office suite
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge and experience in childcare environment and regulatory framework
  • Creativity

The IDI Nurture Space Assistant is a member of the Employee Relations and Welfare Section within the HR Department. 

Provides microbiology sample processing and data entry support and mentoring capacity. Works in the Data Entry and Processing areas to ensure that the microbiology samples received and processed have the accompanying Lab requisitions entered in a timely manner. Performs bacteriology, mycobacteriology as well as manual and automated culture and sensitivity tests. Demonstrates skill and knowledge on all laboratory test systems in a clinical microbiology unit. Follows Good Laboratory Practices and quality requirements of the Core Lab

The Social economic Strengthening Assistant is responsible for supporting the IDI MWP DREAMS Program on economic strengthening in line with the Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) model.  This includes, supporting Local Market Assessments, recruitment of out of school eligible AGYW   for Vocational skilling (Basic Social economic approaches and the Apprenticeship training), monitoring and supporting AGYW savings groups, provision of start-up kits, business support and linkage to employment. He/she will support interventions to conduct sensitization meetings on economic strengthening initiatives, engagement of local actors and preparing monthly project performance reports, conducting post training follow ups/ Monitor continuity in Economic Strengthening growth post-graduation as well as documenting stories of change

The Qualitative Analyst will be responsible for overseeing qualitative data collection, management, and analysis, as well as interpreting social phenomena to provide insights into human behavior and societal trends. The candidate will need to prepare progress reports on the work that has been analyzed, provide feedback on fieldwork to enhance field-based and analytic data collection and utilization. They may also lead qualitative research projects, publish findings in academic journals, and contribute to policy development. Additionally, the Qualitative Analyst will mentor junior researchers, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and present research findings at conferences as needed
