General Summary

The Community Integration of TB and Chronic Respiratory Lung disease screening, diagnosis and treatment (CITaDeL Project) aims to jointly screen for TB, Asthma and COPD in the community. The study will involve doing spirometry tests in primary health care facilities with ready support of a respiratory physician at the project secretariat. The project aims to recruit a Locum Medical Officer to among other key roles support the study respiratory physician with review and quality control of the spirometry service within the study. The ideal candidate must demonstrate readiness to be mentored into clinical research in TB and chronic lung disease. The role of the Graduate trainee will be a support role in the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with screen, recruiting and consent study participants
  • Assist prepare participants for study related clinical procedures
  • Assist with review and quality control of participant spirometry tests
  • Follow-up study patients, review patient files and labs results
  • Perform any other clinical duties that may be reasonably necessary for implementing the study protocol
  • Attend all study team meetings
  • Participate in and conduct all relevant Continuous Medical Education and trainings

Academic Qualifications

  • MBCHB- BACHELOR OF MEDICINE & BACHELOR OF SURGERY

Position Title: Obstetrics/Gynaecology - Study Site Coordinator

Position Overview

A Medical Doctor specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will oversee the clinical aspects of data collection, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of obstetrics and gynaecology data for the Project. This role involves direct coordination with the clinical teams, radiologists, and data collection staff to manage the project's data-related implementation and adhere to ethical and regulatory standards.

The Fleet Management assistant is a member of the fleet section within the operation section under the finance and administration department. The overarching task of the fleet management assistant is to support the fleet management officer in fleet-related activities, inventory control, and insurance and deputize in the officer's absence.

The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician is a member of the Operations section under the finance and administration department He/she will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) systems at all times. He/she will also oversee related works of contracted works to outside contractors - ensuring that their work is up to the required quality and standard.

  • Participate in protocol training and any required trainings related Human Subjects Protection (HSP) and Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
  • Function as the focal person for the ART2FIT study activities and the Head StART qualitative study activities and liaise with partners in the study setting.
  • Assist with study document preparation.
  • Travel frequently to health center study sites in midwestern and southwestern Uganda.
  • Support participant recruitment.
  • Help with qualitative data collection
  • Supervise and coordinate the qualitative research activities of Head StART research assistants.
  • Administer informed consent and address participants' questions.
  • Perform data collection activities including focus group discussions and in-depth individual interviews at health centers and communities in refugee settlements.
  • Draft field notes and engage in reflective practices.
  • Generate interview and focus group discussion transcripts from audio-recordings.
  • Ensure quality control of collected research data.
  • Summarize interview transcripts.
  • Rapid qualitative analysis of collected data.
  • Monitor study progress and safeguard study timelines.
  • Attend regular virtual and in-person team meetings including flexibility to attend meetings at non-standard hours (early mornings or evenings) to facilitate collaboration across time zones.
  • Draft study reports for regulatory authorities and partner institutions.
  • Follow up with IRBs, UNCST, and other authorities for study approvals and renewals.
  • Perform additional study-related duties as assigned by core investigators.
