MK-8527-010 project is “A Phase 3, Randomized, Active-controlled, Double-blind Clinical Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Oral MK-8527 as HIV-1 Preexposure Prophylaxis in Cisgender Women”.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Observes good clinical practice and maintains participant confidentiality.
  2.  Implements study specific clinical procedures, including physical examination of study participants.
  3. Prescribes medications for treatable medical conditions, and makes timely referrals to other agencies for acute medical conditions not covered by this research/ study.
  4. Timely management and reporting of adverse events
  5. Completes Case Report Forms and source documents, and ensures integrity of study data through quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities/procedures

Academic Qualifications

  • • Diploma in Clinical Medicine
  • • Valid practicing license
  • • Up-to-date GCP training and certification

General Summary:

The  Study Nurse will be responsible for site implementation of Drones study. He/She will work together with the staff at Kalangala field Office, to screen, consent, enroll, and conduct study procedures and must be a resident of Kalangala Island. The Study Nurse will perform high level confidentiality whilst providing study information to patients without discrimination and refer patients for further counseling, care or for social support services to government of Uganda designated health facilities where need arises.

 

 

Qualification Requirements 

  • Qualified and registered or certified Nurse/Midwife from a recognized institution.
  • Should be registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwifes’ Council
  • At least five months’ experience in clinical work at Health Centre level
  • Experience in data collection using electronic devices
  • Experience working at Kalangala Island Health centres/facilities
