General Summary

IDI recently received a five-year transition award entitled USAID Local Partner Health Services-TB Activity.  The purpose of the Award is to increase TB case detection and treatment success in Uganda to 90% of all cases and thus contribute to a substantial reduction of Uganda’s TB burden by 2026. IDI works through technical assistance to the national TB Program, the three districts of Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso, the National Referral Hospital and six Regional Referral Hospitals to increase availability, accessibility and utilization of integrated TB/HIV and MDR-TB services.

The Office Assistant supports in the provision of general office operations, including maintaining the office premises clean in the Mukono LPHS Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Related support including secretarial duties as required such as timely printing, photocopying and binding of documents.
  • Provides support as the receptionist
  • Delivers and collects documents, supplies and paper work as directed.
  • Ensure that the office is kept tidy and clean through regular cleaning of office premises and the compound 
  • Prepare and serve tea to all staff as well as ensuring the kitchenette is clean and organized.
  • Organize and packing workshop materials to support training activities
  • Maintaining supplies/logistics inventory and preparing requisitions for office supplies and equipment’s
  • Maintains well organized store for stationery and office supplies.
  • Maintains proper stores records, prepare periodic stores reports and initiate the procurement process for the replenishment of stationery and office supplies.
  • Related support including secretarial duties as required such as timely printing, photocopying and binding of documents.
  • Perform work related errands as requested.

Person Specification

  • Uganda Certificate of Education with a credit in English.
  • Very clean and tidy 
  • Experience in cleaning and working / serving a diverse range of people in an office environment
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to take instructions
  • Ability to use personal judgment
  • Able to work hours outside of the standard work day as required
