The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is a Ugandan not-for-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen health systems in Africa, with strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity development. IDI has six operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research, Laboratory services (including the CAP-certified IDI Core Lab & Translational Lab), Global Health Security and Health System Strengthening.
Students intending to pursue their internships with IDI will submit their applications through the HR online application Portal. Accompanying the internship application, will be a copy of letter of introduction from the respective university/institution, copy of valid institutional identity card, National IDs, updated provisional results with a 3.0 CGPA and above.
Consideration for Internships will centre on; the nature of the courses the applicants are pursuing in relation to the Departmental goals as well as first come first serve principle. Student interns will not be subjected to interviews. Only chartered university students will be considered for internship.
