Sub-Grants Management Training

Course Overview

This is a five-day course with both theory and practicum sessions designed for individuals whose responsibility is the day-to-day management and implementation of sub-grant activities.

As a course participant, you will appreciate your role and contribution to your project’s financial reporting and gain an understanding of expected cash disbursement procedures, the review or monitoring process and its relevance to the overall accuracy and completeness of financial information.

You will learn how to identify, assess and manage finance-related risks; build strong internal control systems and provide quality and proper stewardship of grants.

You will also gain an understanding of costing and appropriation of donor funds, preparation of complete and detailed budgets, and monitor budget performance.
Lastly, you will build your skills in programme management, monitoring and evaluation.


This course targets professionals in both the public and not-for-profit sectors. These professionals include but are not limited to programme directors and officers, chief administrative officers, accountants, monitoring and evaluation officers, HIV focal persons, district programming and technical support officers.
