We are pleased to announce that IDI has secured a grant to fund a project on the costing of cryptococcal screening.
Project: Costing of Cryptococcal Screening and Treatment for National Implementation in Uganda
Project Principal Investigator: Dr. David Meya
Funder: National Foundation for the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. (“CDC Foundation”)
Value: $125,862 (for a period of 18 months)

Key Achievements
- Systems Strengthening:
- 11 District Action Centres functionalised
- 780 OVC structures trained in the revised delivery model, Ministry of Health HIV/AIDS and TB community actor’s curriculum
- 158 CSOs and 161 district staff trained in OVCMIS
- TB Services:
- 2,741 screened for TB through home visits and CAST-TB campaigns
- 137 cases identified and started on treatment
- Nutrition Services:
- 383 households supported to establish kitchen gardens
- 1,420 beneficiaries received temporary food support
- Education Support Service:
- 329 OVCs from candidate classes supported
