Health Workforce

Building a Strong Workforce

Recognizing the vital role, a robust healthcare workforce plays in delivering quality care, IDI’s Health System Strengthening (HSS) projects prioritize its development. Our initiatives encompass a diverse range of personnel, including salaried healthcare workers, dedicated volunteers, and technical support staff.

Addressing workforce shortages is a key focus. We collaborate with the Ministry of Health and district health teams to identify and implement strategies to reduce absenteeism among healthcare workers. This ensures optimal staffing levels and continuity of care.

Furthermore, IDI’s HSS projects work directly with healthcare facilities to identify and train volunteers. These volunteers possess valuable competencies that align with Ministry of Health guidelines, and their contributions help fill critical gaps within the workforce. By building a more comprehensive and empowered healthcare workforce, IDI’s HSS projects lay the foundation for a stronger and more resilient healthcare system.
