Clinical Trials Unit
The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) supports the implementation of clinical trials at the institute, ensuring that the national and international standards for running clinical trials are met. The unit supports an average of over 20 ongoing trials ranging from Phase II to Phase IV studies, consisting of both investigator/institution-initiated studies and industry-sponsored studies. The current trials include pharmacokinetics studies, randomized trials, and post-marketing studies covering HIV, malaria, TB, and other infectious diseases. The unit’s primary role is to provide recommendations for the development and management of trials, offer support services (regulatory compliance, IRB help, internal monitoring), develop research standard operating procedures, and review compliance and progress of all clinical trials at IDI.
