The Inaugural IDI Science Fair: February 2020

IDI held her inaugural Science Fair on 12th February 2020 at the IDI McKinnell Knowledge Centre, Makerere University main campus. Theme of the morning plenary session was “Influencing Global Health Policy and Practice in Infectious Diseases”, and that for the afternoon panel discussion which was followed by the “meet the mentor” was “Career Pathways and Opportunities in Scientific Research”. A total of 161 participants attended (i.e., 86 in the plenary session and 75 in the panel discussion). Participants for the plenary session were comprised of researchers and policy makers from implementing partners, MakCHS, Uganda Ministry of Health, KCCA, UNHRO, National Institutes of Health Uganda and scientists from IDI. The afternoon panel discussion attended by emerging scientists from IDI.
